Virtual Food Drive: Fieldstone Homes Partnered with the Utah Food Bank

Fieldstone Homes joined with the Utah Food Bank to host a virtual food drive, which encouraged employees, trade partners, home buyers, and the general public to donate funds to feed those struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - June 5th, 2020 –

From May 4, 2020 through June 5, 2020, Fieldstone Homes – a Utah Home Builder – and its charitable foundation, “Partners in Hope,” teamed up with the Utah Food Bank to host a virtual food drive to feed individuals and families in the community struggling to put food on the table during the COVID-19 pandemic. 1 in 8 people in Utah are struggling with hunger right now, and a third of those are children. Fieldstone cares about the community and wanted to show gratitude by giving back.

We set a goal to raise $20,000. With so much support from our employees, buyers and vendors, we far exceeded that goal. This money will be used for more than 100,000 meals for Utahns in need! We want to thank all those who helped us go above and beyond our goal in providing meals to Utahns in need. Thank you!

“We are so incredibly grateful to Fieldstone Homes for their donation, which will provide the equivalent of 126,107 meals for Utahns facing hunger,” said Ginette Bott, Utah Food Bank President & CEO. “The fact that they were so successful using our Virtual Food Drive tool shows just how easy it is for local organizations, especially businesses, to join us in Fighting Hunger Statewide.”

Utah Food Bank’s Virtual Food Drive is an especially powerful hunger fighting tool given the current pandemic crisis because it’s just like a traditional food drive, but without person-to-person contact. Not only is this platform revolutionary, but it's easy to use. For the thousands of Utah families facing food insecurity, summer means trying to find a way to ensure their kids don’t go to bed hungry with no school meals to rely on. COVID-19 brought early school closings, which has only increased these numbers. Virtual Food Drives are a great way for businesses to get involved because employees can conveniently contribute online from the convenience (and safety) from wherever they may be working from.

The Virtual Fund Raising Tool provided by Utah Food Bank simplifies the process and it only takes minutes to set up. Fieldstone Homes invites other organizations to get involved in this time sensitive effort to feed Utah Families.
